The Visitor Centre

I went to visit Croydon Airport recently with a family member who flew from Croydon to Guernsey in the 1950s. The tour guide was excellent and was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the airport and the early travel requirements.

The Visitor Centre

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate school visits at the current time. We are hoping to resume this service in the very near future.

Our schools’ education programme brings to life the fascinating international story of Croydon Airport. We encourage school children to engage with the unique history told at the Croydon Airport Visitor Centre. A downloadable Teachers Pack has been produced which can be used to support school visits or as a classroom learning resource.

Making the micro museum more accessible to all is important to us so that everyone has equal opportunity to learn, enjoy and be inspired.

School visits

School visits to the micro museum can be arranged in advance, as resources allow.  Our aim is to make the visit as interactive and engaging as possible. Our spaces are limited so depending on class size it may be necessary to divide into smaller groups. There are displays, maps, photos, dressing-up costumes and interactive activities to explore in the Visitor Centre and giving the children a real hands-on experience.
